Healing Through Grounded Connection
Healing isn't one-size-fits-all.
My practice focuses primarily on supporting adults and couples navigating complex trauma and its impact on emotional wellbeing, relationships, and everyday life.
My approach is trauma-informed, collaborative, and grounded in the belief that meaningful healing begins with safety. Together, we'll move at a pace that honours your nervous system, recognizing that healing cannot be rushed and that lasting change happens through relationship, curiosity, and compassion.
I draw from evidence-based and experiential approaches to create care that is responsive to your needs, goals, and readiness.
Services Offered
What You Can Expect
🌿 Grounded, Trauma-Informed Care
Healing happens best when the nervous system feels supported. I prioritize steadiness, pacing, and regulation so therapy feels manageable rather than overwhelming. This may include grounding, somatic awareness, and building internal resources before deeper processing work.
🌿 Collaborative & Whole-Person Care
Therapy is built on relationship. I believe meaningful change happens when you feel seen, heard, and understood. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we consider the connection between your mind, body, emotions, relationships, environment, and lived experiences.
🌿 Consent, Choice & Individualized Support
You are the expert in your own life. Therapy is guided by informed consent, transparency, and collaboration at every stage. We move at a pace that feels right for you, adapting our approach to your goals, strengths, culture, identity, and the ways you naturally experience and process the world.
🌿 Inclusive & Affirming Care
I strive to create a welcoming, respectful, and non-judgmental space for people of all identities and lived experiences, including LGBTQ2S+, BIPOC, Indigenous, and neurodivergent clients.
I recognize that identity, culture, systemic oppression, discrimination, intergenerational trauma, and lived experience can shape mental health and wellbeing. I approach this work with cultural humility, curiosity, and respect, without assumption or judgment.
🌿 Ethical & Evidence-Informed Care
My work is guided by professional ethics, ongoing education, and the standards of practice of BCACC, BCCNM, and CRPNA. I aim to integrate evidence-based approaches with compassionate, individualized care.
EMDR Therapy
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing
Traumatic experiences can leave our nervous systems feeling as though something is still happening in the present, even when the experience has long since passed. This can show up as anxiety, emotional overwhelm, feeling constantly on edge, disturbing memories, difficulty trusting yourself or others, or patterns that feel difficult to change.
EMDR is an evidence-based approach that helps the brain and nervous system process experiences that have become "stuck," allowing them to be integrated with less emotional intensity.
Safety Comes First
EMDR does not begin with processing your most difficult experiences.
We first focus on creating a foundation of safety, stability, and internal resources. This may include grounding strategies, nervous system regulation, developing a sense of safety, and strengthening your ability to manage difficult emotions.
Resource building can be especially important for people with complex trauma or experiences that have affected their sense of safety over time. These skills become tools you can draw on both within therapy and in everyday life.
Only when you feel sufficiently prepared do we consider moving into deeper processing. The pace is collaborative, and there is never pressure to move faster than feels manageable.
EMDR May Be Helpful For
Recent traumatic or distressing experiences
PTSD
Complex trauma and C-PTSD
Childhood and developmental trauma
Attachment wounds
Anxiety and panic
Grief and loss
Distressing or intrusive memories
Negative beliefs about yourself that developed
through difficult experiences
Healthcare and workplace-related trauma
First responder experiences
Addiction and concurrent mental health concerns
EMDR can be adapted to your individual circumstances, whether you're working through a single traumatic event or the effects of experiences that have accumulated over time.

Individual Counselling
No two people experience healing in the same way.
Rather than asking you to fit into one therapeutic model, I integrate different approaches based on your needs, goals, strengths, and what feels most supportive.
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
CBT explores the relationship between thoughts, emotions, behaviours, and physical responses. Together, we may identify patterns contributing to distress and develop practical strategies for emotional regulation and sustainable change.
Narrative Therapy
Narrative therapy explores the stories we carry about ourselves and our lives. Together, we can make space for perspectives that honour your strengths, values, resilience, and sense of agency.
Somatic & Nervous System-Informed Approaches
Healing doesn't happen through words alone. I integrate gentle somatic and experiential practices to help you notice body-based responses, build regulation, and develop a greater sense of connection with yourself.
This may include grounding, breath, body awareness, imagery, or other approaches that feel appropriate for you.
These modalities are woven together rather than used as a checklist. Our work is shaped by what you need.
Trauma-Informed Couples Therapy
Relationships can be one of our greatest sources of connection and healing, but they can also become places where old wounds, patterns of protection, and unmet needs emerge.
When one or both partners have experienced trauma, communication can become more difficult, conflict may escalate quickly, or one person may withdraw while the other reaches for connection. Often, these responses are not signs of a lack of love or commitment—they are the nervous system's way of trying to stay safe.
Together, we'll work to better understand these patterns, strengthen emotional safety, improve communication, and foster greater connection through a compassionate, trauma-informed lens.
Couples therapy may be helpful for:
Trauma affecting one or both partners
Addiction and recovery
Communication difficulties
Trust and attachment concerns
Repeated conflict cycles
Life transitions and grief
Strengthening emotional connection
Psychedelic Integration Therapy
I offer psychedelic integration therapy in alignment with Canadian laws and professional regulations. I do not provide, prescribe, or facilitate psychedelic substances.
Sometimes psychedelic experiences can bring forward meaningful insights, unresolved emotions, or questions that continue long after the experience itself. Integration therapy offers a safe, grounded space to explore these experiences with curiosity and compassion.
Together, we may explore:
Making sense of meaningful or challenging experiences
Processing emotions or memories that surfaced
Navigating changes in identity, relationships, or worldview
Supporting nervous system regulation following an experience
Integrating insights into everyday life in practical and sustainable ways
Exploring spirituality, meaning, and personal growth in a way that aligns with your own values
My background in trauma therapy and psychiatric nursing allows me to approach integration carefully, recognizing that insight alone is not healing. Lasting change happens when experiences are processed, understood, and gently woven into everyday life with safety and support.
Values & Accountability
My work as a therapist is grounded in the belief that healing does not happen in isolation — it is shaped by relationships, systems, identity and the communities we are part of.
I hold a deep respect for the lands I live and work on and for the ongoing responsibilities that come with being in relationship with Indigenous communities. I recognize that meaningful care requires ongoing reflection, accountability and a willingness to keep learning.
As part of this commitment, I intentionally contribute 2% of annual profits to Indigenous-led healing organizations. Each year, I select a different organization to support based on community need and alignment with healing-focused work. Most recently, I contributed to the Bent Arrow Traditional Healing Society.
I am also committed to creating a practice that is inclusive, affirming and safe for people of all identities. This includes LGBTQ2S+ communities and people with diverse racial, cultural and lived experiences. I strive to approach this work with cultural humility, respect and an ongoing awareness of the impact of systemic oppression, intergenerational trauma and discrimination on mental health and wellbeing.
Alongside this, I hold a neurodiversity-affirming approach to care. I recognize that different nervous systems experience the world in different ways, and I work with flexibility and respect for a wide range of neurodivergent experiences, including ADHD, autism, sensory differences, learning differences, and other ways of processing and being in the world.
This is ongoing work, not a fixed destination. I aim to continue growing in ways that support more thoughtful, ethical, inclusive and relational care.

Grounded Connections provides virtual counselling services in British Columbia as a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and virtual mental health services in Alberta as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse (RPN). NIHB-funded services are available only to eligible Indigenous clients located in Alberta.
I acknowledge that I live, work, and play on the traditional and unceded territories of the shíshálh and Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Nations. I recognize the enduring harms caused by settler colonial policies that separated Indigenous peoples from their families, cultures, and lands—harms that continue to impact individuals and communities today. This acknowledgment is part of an ongoing commitment to learning, accountability, and growth. I strive to practice in ways that support respect, relationship, and care, while working to prevent further harm. As one tangible step toward reconciliation, 2% of annual profits are donated to an Indigenous-led organization.
